Regular readers of my blog have probably noticed that handsome hubby and I often use System JO’s Silicone Free Hybrid Lubricant. This is a hybrid of Water and Coconut Oil. It’s our favorite lube to use when playing with our toys.

Many manufacturers of sex toys, especially silicone toys, recommend water-based lubricant for their toys. One reason is because, over time, silicone lubricant can destroy silicone toys. There are some exceptions, and I always recommend reading the packaging or instructions to see what is suggested by the manufacturer. Using the wrong lube could potentially void any warranty offered by the toy manufacturer.

Please note that water-based lubricant is always called for on toys such as Fleshlights. I’m told by a manufacturer’s representative that using silicone lube on such toys (made of TPE) can literally melt the interior of the toy. That would be highly disappointing.

Anyhoo, we like the System JO Silicone Free Hybrid because it is not sticky or tacky like most water-based lubricants are, and it contains no toxic parabens. It has a very nice silky feel to it. Closer to the feel of silicone lubricant, which we do use for intercourse or anal, as long as there are no toys involved.

There is a slight coconut scent but it isn’t overpowering at all. Actually, the first time we used it, I didn’t even notice it.

When folks come in the store and ask for lubricant, the first question I ask is, “what are you using the lube for?”. That is usually followed by a quizzical look on their face, prompting me to ask if it’s for sex itself or being used with toys.

The System JO Silicone Free Hybrid is a good recommendation, as it can be used with most toys, even silicone toys. Unless that is, the toy manufacturer specifically states water-based lubricant only.

When using this lubricant, a little goes a long way, which is another benefit to using it. If you’ve used any water based lube before you know it needs reapplied often as the body absorbs it. Since the body absorbs water-based lube, it is important to use one that is paraben- and glycerin-free. You can rest assured that this lube has neither.

Notice the nice creamy texture in the video below. It’s not too runny and not too thick. It’s just right. This lube supplements the body’s natural lubrication.

As the System JO website states, this lube is great for solo or couples play, as well as with silicone toys. Get you some of this awesome lube and you won’t need any other.
